Welcome to our Roman Catholic Community!
Welcome
to the Web site of the parish of Sacred
Heart in Stamford in New York.
Both our Churches are a part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany and are nestled in the beautiful Catskill Mountains.

Our Churches are unique as is our caring faith community.
Each individual of our Catholic community contributes in his or her own way to weave our Lords tapestry of Love and Caring both within our church and in the world at large.
We understand that the very
core of our faith is Jesus Christ as found
in the Gospel and as expressed through the Holy
Eucharist. Our Lord passed the Church on to Peter and we as
Catholics carry on our Lords word today.
Ordinary Time

Ordinary Time is the liturgical period outside of the distinctive liturgical seasons, and runs 33 or 34 weeks. It is named "ordinary" because it is derived from the word ordinal or "numbered." It falls immediately after Christmastide and then again after the Easter Season.
Ordinary Time which is represented by the
liturgical color green. Green, the symbol of hope, is the color of the
sprouting seed and arouses in the faithful the hope of reaping the
eternal harvest of heaven, especially the hope of a glorious
resurrection.
